Ivan Roman is an awesome man of God and a good husband, father, pastor and prophetic voice to the nations.
When instructed to pray that his eyes would be opened on a given occasion, this is what Ivan says happened:
Ivan: "...I've never asked for them (Angels); they simply appeared [in times past] and I honestly didn't expect anything to happen when I prayed this time. I half-heartedly prayed and instantly, my eyes were opened and I saw an angel standing at the foot of my bed near my treadmill. He held a silver trumpet in his hands."
You're going to love reading this story and learning what the angel instructs and reveals to Ivan.
By the way, other then Michael the Arch Angel and Gabriel, we are not given the names of any other angels when we read the Bible. However, it's been a fairly common occurrence for angels to appear in modern times to prophets and seers, and in many cases, they do reveal their name. Most times, the name has a specific meaning which connects with the type of assignment the angel has been sent on or created for.
We never want to make a big deal about the name of an angel as the Bible doesn't. But, it's certainly fine to appreciate that God does sometimes allow a seer, a prophet, an intercessor, etc. to know that name of an angel.

A Generation Gets A Name Change and Fights 'From' Their Inheritance
An Angelic Encounter and Decree
On Tuesday morning, July 22, 2014 I was lying on my bed listening to my online Bible school, and praying. In this particular session of the Welton Academy, a guest instructor was teaching a session on being a seer (one who sees in the spirit).
At the end of the session the instructor asked the students to put their hands over their eyes and then ask God to allow them to see the angels in the room. (I have had very few angelic experiences in my life but the ones I have had were very sovereign.) I've never asked for them; they simply appeared and I honestly didn't expect anything to happen when I prayed this time. I half-heartedly prayed and instantly, my eyes were opened and I saw an angel standing at the foot of my bed near my treadmill. He held a silver trumpet in his hands.
I asked the Lord what the angel's name was and I heard, "Benoni". I remembered the meaning of the name Benoni and the story in the Bible, and I wasn't excited about it. Benoni was the name Rachel gave to her son before she died, just after giving birth to him. His name means "son of my sorrow" (Genesis 35:18).
I then asked the Lord why the angel was here. I heard, "I am here to change your name from Benoni to Benjamin." The presence of God came upon me strongly and He spoke, "You have said that everything you have, you had to fight for. You will no longer need to fight for your inheritance; you will receive inheritance freely from your Father." I asked the Lord why the angel carried a silver trumpet and He responded, "The angel is making a decree."
This is the second angel that I have seen with a silver trumpet. The first was in 2005. In 2005, the revelation that came to me was out of Numbers 10:9 which says, "When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies." Another Scripture relevant to this encounter came from 1 Corinthians 14:8, "If the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?" (Photo via flickr)
The Lord was clearly speaking to me about the Body of Christ advancing into battle as the army of the Lord in victory. Other than being greatly moved personally by the experience, very little came from this encounter. I have often shared that it didn't seem to produce any forward movement in the Saints.
One of the differences between this recent angelic visitation and the one in 2005 was that in 2005 the angel held the trumpet in its lap, but in this recent encounter the trumpet was pressed against the lips of the angel as he stood at attention. I feel this decree is being made NOW to the Body of Christ.
There is an army that God is calling to advance His Kingdom but this "name" change must first take place. We can no longer operate as orphans fighting for our inheritance.
Joseph Blesses Benjamin
Let's take a quick look at the story of Benjamin and Joseph. The story begins with a famine in the land that causes the sons of Jacob to have to leave their father and their youngest brother Benjamin in order to get food in Egypt. Joseph, who was earlier sold by his brothers into slavery, is now serving as governor in the land and is in charge of the food distribution (Genesis 42).
As Joseph sees his brothers, he recognized them but pretends that he does not know them. He asks several questions about their father and their family, and discovers that he now has a younger brother named Benjamin. To prove that they are telling the truth, Joseph accuses his brothers of being spies and forces them to bring the youngest son Benjamin before him. When Joseph sees Benjamin his heart is moved. Genesis 43:29, "As he looked about and saw his brother Benjamin, his own mother's son, he asked, 'Is this your youngest brother, the one you told me about?' And he said, 'God be gracious to you, my son.'"
Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there. And in verses 33-34, "The men had been seated before him in the order of their ages, from the firstborn to the youngest; and they looked at each other in astonishment. When portions were served to them from Joseph's table, Benjamin's portion was five times as much as anyone else's. So they feasted and drank freely with him."
Take notice that Joseph gave freely to Benjamin, the son of his own mother, without jealousy or expectation that Benjamin would have to endure the same trials that he had in order to receive equal favor.
As Believers, we share the same mother, the Church, and the same Father, God. We should not compare our journeys with that of another nor should we withhold any blessing that God has freely bestowed upon us. Joseph demonstrated the true heart of a father and was a type and shadow of what Christ did for us: freely giving what He had paid such an incredible price for.
Look again at Joseph's display of favor upon Benjamin from Genesis 43:34, "When portions were served to them from Joseph's table, Benjamin's portion was five times as much as anyone else's. So they feasted and drank freely with him."
Learning to receive the blessings that our "Great Joseph" gives us is vital to having our name changed from Benoni to Benjamin. Benjamin didn't have to beg or plead for his portion; it was freely given to him. We need to learn to be OK with the fact that we didn't have to go through what Joseph did in order to receive what he had gained. This is what is so amazing about grace.
Those who are Benjamin's will encounter two groups of people: those who are like Joseph's brothers who sold him into slavery because of jealousy, and those who were like Joseph who embraced Benjamin, kissed him, and said, "Everything that I have is freely yours."
Warrior Angels
During this encounter I went from seeing, to hearing, to weeping in the presence of God. After seeing the angel and hearing the voice of God, I saw, in a vision, angels in my room ready for battle. These angels didn't look beautiful and majestic. They were battle scarred, fierce looking men with shields, swords, and other weapons for battle. I then heard, "You won't fight for inheritance anymore, you'll fight from it."
After hearing the Father speak that I will no longer have to fight for my inheritance, I now feel as though I am being invited to a battle scene and this perplexed me. So, I asked the Lord, "Why do I see angels ready for battle?" The Lord spoke to me, "Fight for the inheritance of My people." (Photo by Jennifer Page "Warrior Angel" via elijahshopper.com)
What followed was a flow of thoughts that came into my heart. I wrote them down while being wrecked by the presence of God. This is what I heard: "I want My Church to receive their inheritance; I'm not holding it back from them. Many approach Me as if I am holding back good things but I withhold no good thing from My people. Just ask and it's yours; it's your inheritance. Jesus died for it, why would I not freely give it to you?"
Psalm 84:11-12, "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in You."
Rest, Relationship and Inheritance
The encounter ended with this statement followed by new understanding: "Fighters, orphans and beggars are becoming sons and daughters." Revelation filled my heart and I saw two groups of people. One group, like me, has felt as though they had to fight for everything they have, and in the other group were those who felt entitled to everything without relationship. The Lord showed me that both of these attitudes are wrong. God desires, out of relationship with Him, that we receive our inheritance from a place of rest.
There is an entire generation, like Benoni, that have been named the "son of my suffering" and they have had to fight for everything they have. The fatherless have had to become fighters, orphans, and beggars in order to survive, and the entitled think they can just sit around in the Father's house making demands without faith and obedience. However, the Father has invited both groups into His home for healing, restoration, and ultimately for relationship. It is out of relationship with the Father, for the purpose of knowing Him and loving Him, that we receive the inheritance He has for us.
Treasures in Earthen Vessels
There is one last detail that I would like to share concerning this visitation. I saw a picture of a treasure box and I knew this was the treasure in earthen vessels the Bible speaks of. The "treasure in earthen vessels" is the Holy Spirit residing in Believers who rest in their giftings and callings.
It was neither the Lord nor the enemy who kept this box closed, but rather the people themselves. Not that the enemy doesn't prey upon the fears and insecurities of the people, but it was very obvious to me that the Lord was emphasizing our ability to open the box and walk into our callings. He is not withholding any good thing from us. Out of this experience I am more aware of two things. First is: the Father's love. Not only that His purposes will be accomplished through us but the feeling of accomplishment He has when we are walking in the calling He has for us. Secondly is: the role of angels among us.
Angels are assigned to minister and partner with us and their names reveal their assignment. I didn't speak directly to the angel, I spoke to Jesus. God's presence in the room made it seem as though the angel wasn't in there, and yet he didn't leave until the experience ended. Contrary to what some believe, the angels do not do all the work. They partner with us to see the Father's heart released. God is not waiting for angels; He's waiting for us to step into the Father's house, experience His heart, and receive His love and inheritance.
Heaven's Decree
The Lord is making a decree from Heaven: It's time for the Army of God to advance, but first we must come to the Father's house and experience His love, security and healing. In that place of relationship with Him, we go from being the one who carries the scars of the sufferings of one's youth, to a blessed son and daughter of God that no longer fights for or demands their inheritance. We simply receive it and walk in it.
The greatest demonstration of spiritual warfare is a son or daughter of God who knows their identity and walks in the fullness of their calling in Christ. Will that person be you?
