One of My Olive Tree's keynote projects that began in 2014 is the Peace Grove project—located over a terror tunnel within the boundaries of an IDF army base near the Gaza Strip.
#1... The location is important.
#2... The name is important.
We named this grove the Peace Grove, because of the significance of the word "peace."
According to Strong's Concordance, the word peace occurs 429 times in 400 verses in the King James Version.
We see it first in Genesis 15.15, and the last place we find it is in Revelation 6.4:
From Genesis to Revelation we see peace demonstrated in people, places and situations, and we see the destruction that happens when peace is not present.
The Hebrew word for peace is "shalom."
Shalom is translated as: completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, prosperity, friendship, contentment, and peace from war.
In Israel the word shalom is used as both a greeting, as well as the term to bid others farewell. But! It is so much more than just saying "hello," or saying "good-bye." It is decreeing peace into the atmosphere with every greeting and parting.
When you say shalom you are saying... you are decreeing: May you walk in completeness... may you walk in prosperity... may you live free from war!
And that is what we want to accomplish with our Peace Grove: we want to declare and decree peace. Through this special initiative you have an opportunity to sow a gift of peace into the nation of Israel and to reap peace in return.
With each tree planted in the Peace Grove our sponsors are decreeing the same thing with their gift. Each and every olive tree is indeed a true, living gift of good welfare, friendship, prosperity, completeness, and peace from war...
But the location of our Peace Grove is also of great significance...
Our Peace Grove is located at Manache Reim, which is the main Israeli Army base headquarters for the Gaza Strip. One of the troops located at this base monitors for tunneling activity between the Gaza Strip and Israel; this troop discovered a tunnel that was running directly under the base and directly under the My Olive Tree Peace Grove site. Had this tunnel not been discovered, Hamas terrorists could have inverted the tunnel and caught the brigade by surprise.
These dirt and cement tunnels were part of the system of tunnels that were used during the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit — a 20 year old IDF soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas and held captive for 5 years.
During this time Gilad was barely kept alive, and was eventually released during a prisoner trade off. One Israeli soldier was released for a reported exchange of 1,027 Palestinian prisoners. Many of these prisoners were convicted of multiple murders and carrying out terror attacks against Israeli civilians — they were collectively responsible for 569 Israeli deaths.
This Peace Grove project was birthed out of a heart for peace. The Lieutenant General Commander of Manache Reim, Mickey Edelstein, with the help of a Muslim Bedouin IDF Sergeant, have been facilitating our new My Olive Tree Peace Grove.
These men, one Jewish and the other Muslim, serving in the Israeli army, have come together with us as a statement of peace! They have birthed a unique opportunity for us to sponsor trees — trees whose roots rest above tunnels designed for destruction.

My Olive Tree (MOT) is a company that encourages the sponsorship of trees in Israel to help boost Israel's agricultural economy and provide jobs through continued harvests. MOT works with agricultural businesses and farmers in Israel. The contract with the farmers states that My Olive Tree receives 10% of the profit of the oil that is harvested annually from the trees. MOT has agreed to donate this annual percentage into humanitarian aid work in Israel—the other 90% remains with the farmers. This is in an effort to bless Israel's industry and families.
Sponsorship: There are options to plant trees for less in Israel. Many times these trees are small saplings that are planted solely for the purpose of reforestation. They are generally planted without irrigation and do not receive further care. MOT plants for reforestation and for the purpose of receiving future harvests. The trees are at least 3 feet tall, irrigated and receive the care they need to become mature trees that produce annual harvests. They are purchased from nursery stocks that are designed to produce healthy harvests in specific types of soil. The sponsorship of the tree is not tax-deductible.
My Olive Tree has recently expanded its efforts to include Grapevines and Dead Sea MORINGA. We are truly witnessing the desert blossom and rejoice and the nations being blessed out of Zion!
