Theresa Phillips: When the Blood Cries From the Land: "Come Home"

by Theresa Phillips
May 31, 2012

Julie SmithIntro From Julie A. Smith:

As I read through Theresa Phillips words, tears began running. I could relate to hearing the blood crying out in my own land of Thailand. Earlier this year this quickened in my spirit, "God is returning people to their roots because the roots need to return to God." There is an inheritance and birthright many lands have not received yet and it's buried like a deep, hidden treasure. The sons and daughters need to call it out – that's why creation eagerly awaits for us to be revealed.

I also believe God is returning people to their roots for the "soul" purpose of knowing Him in that land – it's about souls (in my own land of Thailand it's 95% Buddhist). I would encourage you to seek God of what He would have you do in your own land as you read through this word.

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. Romans 8:18-21

Theresa Phillips"Come Home"

It was a faint sound... I could hear a cry: "Come home."

I was curious. I looked around me to see where it was coming from when I heard it again:

"Come home."

I was driving down the road when I heard it yet again. It was coming from the ground!

I turned the corner. I was now driving past the place where my own twin brother had died when I was five years old. I then heard a very faint cry, "Daddy, come home." My attention was alert; I was listening.

"Daddy, come home." I heard it again, then I heard the Lord speak to me: "Theresa, did you hear that?"

"Yes, Lord."

"Theresa, do you want Me to show you what this is?"

"Yes, Lord."

"Theresa, the blood cries from the land... The blood speaks, and it is calling people home."

Tears began to fall down my face. I was sensing something far greater than I had ever felt before. I knew I had to be in that spot to hear, so I waited. The cry was so filled with longing and filled with need that I again began to weep. I felt like Rachel weeping for her children:

"Thus says the LORD; 'A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not'" (Jeremiah 31:15).

"You have my attention now, Lord."

"A Shift Has Taken Place"

I started to drive off when I realized I was on "Main Street." I was driving home.

"Come home!" I heard the cry of the child. Then I heard it loudly: "COME HOME!"

I was not repeating it loudly in my car, but I was just repeating it over and over again, "Come home."

I stepped over the threshold of my house when I heard the Lord speak again: "It's happened: a shift has taken place. I am calling people back to Me, to My house of worship; yes, even to their own communities and to their loved ones.

"I have heard the cries of My people and I am calling them BACK to their roots. Back to their foundations, I am calling. Do you hear? Do you see? Have you ever wondered what I hear? What I see? Let Me show you.

"I am calling people back into intimate prayer, ardent worship, blended with fresh humility. I am calling missionaries to America. I am calling. I am calling, I am calling..."

I was lost in this sound coming from the highway of Heaven. I was immersed in His presence, and I was undone! I could hear the cry from the land, the cry from Heaven, both at the same time. But, why, Lord? Why this sign to me?! Why the pain and suffering in my own family? Why the cry of the child? Why the lament of need for a daddy to come home?

All of this raced in my mind. Covering my face in my hand, I wept bitterly, for the sound was alive! I was crying tears with Jesus.

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it... Luke 19:41

The answers came. The suffering of my family = the suffering of Jesus' family = the Church. The cry of the child = the cries of His children = the Church. The Lament of the longing for a daddy = the passion of Jesus to be Lord over = the Church.

"I Am Bringing Many From Afar"

I heard the Spirit of the Lord say to me, "Theresa, I am bringing many from afar – many who have been on the mission field will come home. Many who have forgotten will remember.

"I have a new batch of missionaries who will be sent ones. These will carry a torch from My throne room. They will have a burning fire to say, 'I am of my Father's House, come to me!'

"Those who have been gone a long time are longing to come home. They are homesick for their own land. These precious ones have been a blessing in My name for years in all parts of the world. Now they will return home, for the blood of the land is calling them home. Generations of sojourners will return to their homelands. As they enter 'Home,' the floodgates of memories will emerge and cause a resurrection of evangelism. NEW evangelism will come forth, for the whole world is in need of Me."

And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Isaiah 19:20

As I reflected upon what had just transpired, I looked out my window toward my garden. The roses were in bloom a month early. Even the rose bush planted in memory of the one gone on before me. I wondered, How could it be that I would hear this cry?

Then, truth came from my heavenly Father's heart. He spoke with such clarity. My Savior, my big brother, was near, so close, when the softness of His love melted my interior of wonder: "Theresa, you were born here. You were born for this day – it is time to not be afraid. I am raising up people to be voices in their own land, their cities, and their country. These will be voices that can be trusted, for they know the lay of the land. These who I am bringing home will bring home with them a heart for justice and righteousness, mercy and grace. They will have the weapon of experience in their hands and they will have the cry of the people in their spirit. They will have the remembrance of what it takes, and new leaders will emerge.

"Note this, Theresa: Some who are young will plant churches; some who are wiser will be sent. Yes, this Apostolic Company will be a company of silver-haired men and women who can be trusted with truth and service to equip the young who have been wild oxen in the field. Ready yourself. Be armed and dangerous to the enemy of eternity, for it's time to listen to the cries of your people."

I was still; He was finished speaking to me. I was then reminded of Exodus 3:7: "And the LORD said, 'I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows...'"

Then God sent Moses back to the people...wow!

I was comforted by this Scripture, for He surely knows; and He did, after all, bear all of our sins and transgressions. I then opened the Book and this is what I read:

"And He said, 'What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground'" (Genesis 4:10).

I then wept differently, for our Sovereign Lord had given me a glimpse of truth: I heard the blood cry. It was my own brother. I knew it was a spiritual metaphor, but it was true nonetheless.

Prayer

Dear Father, I pray and I first ask You to forgive me for any way I may have caused an offense to my brothers and sisters in the faith. I ask You to help me cherish the ties that You have forged in me to execute the process of justice for each place I step. May You give me cords of mercy and grace about my neck to rein me in when needed.

I ask You for the nation's people to be protected, the missionaries to be strengthened, and for the generations of mature and young to harmonize with the will of Heaven's mandates. I praise you in the morning and in the night seasons, for I know the Shift has begun. Help us to embrace with homecoming celebrations those who have forged a road not easily traveled.

I ask for ears to listen – not just to hear, a heart to respond – not just be moved, and a willing spirit to be taught to reach beyond our own expectations for the work of evangelism with excitement and joy for the season ahead. Lord, help me love Home.

In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
