The very essence of the prophetic gift is more about encouragement than rebuke and causing others to see into their future. This promotes THANKSGIVING for what it's shown. Some exhortation or rebuke or warning is sometimes part of the prophetic but mostly, it's encouragement!
Modern-day prophetic ministry purposely calls the Body to believe for and pray into their own hope-filled future. It also calls the Church to pray for those in authority over us, as this is pleasing to God. This is very Biblical which is why we post this (just below) daily to pray for our President on our sites. God asks this of the Church – to pray for those in authority over us. If you struggle in that area, the Scripture below will be a good reminder.
I have always had an interest in watching things regarding any President from either party of the United States. Every "Presidential" movie or documentary I can get my hands on that applies, I watch. I used to watch "THE WEST WING" weekly when it was on TV. They were reasonably good at showing two sides to the story. With that in mind, let me share with you about the "THANKSGIVING AT THE WHITE HOUSE(S)."
The Eastern White House Thanksgiving – a Way to Make God Thankful Toward You
In prayer together for the President and Mrs. Obama (click here).
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4, NIV
There are wonderful Believers on both sides of the aisle, and God asks us to pray for "KINGS AND ALL THOSE IN AUTHORITY," not just based on your own political view OR opinion of those in authority over you. You are asked by God to pray for ALL THOSE IN AUTHORITY over you (then vote your conscience of course. See above Scripture).
Thank God for the Eastern White House in Washington, D.C., and I regularly pray for President and Mrs. Obama and their family. If you thank God and pray for Mr. and Mrs. Obama and their family, you will cause God to be pleased; you will actually cause God to be thankful for YOUR obedience.
Let it be a THANKSGIVING FOR GOD DAY. What I mean by that is: let God be more thankful for your renewed obedience to His Presence – His desire for your actions. Let GOD work through your prayers of blessing such that it will be HIS THANKSGIVING FOR YOU DAY.
Years ago, only a few months before 9/11, based on contacts I had, I got an "inside" or "private" tour of the White House in Washington, D.C. where I was actually able to poke my head into (not enter) the actual Oval Office and pray into it. It was a private evening tour that the general public does not get to see. I remember the grandeur of the Office of the President and the Native American art on George W. Bush's wall.
Then we crossed the hall into the Roosevelt Room where many meetings take place. I placed my hands on the President's chair and prayed for it in the Roosevelt Room. We all did this as a very small group which included my wife. Then we went around the corner to the Situation Room door and laid hands on the door and prayed for the decisions that would be made there. Little did we know what would soon hit this nation only a few months later on 9/11, and how important that Situation Room would become in the following days, months and years; a room where many Crisis Meetings are held.
We also got to see the two yellow chairs by the fireplace in the White House and lay hands on and pray for those chairs where many presidents have met and will meet for a photo op with other world leaders. We prayed for the Presidents then and those who would sit here into the future.
Give thanks that we have a government that allows freedom and keeps its country safe.

The Western White House(s)
There have been many official "Western White Houses." When I was only a teen, I would go to church where my father would speak in Yorba Linda, California. We would inevitably pass a little unpaved driveway and an almost invisible sign that said, "Birthplace of President Nixon." You could see an old tiny inconspicuous house. Today that site is a massive museum of the Nixon Presidency and both Mr. and Mrs. Nixon are buried there.
In the mid 1980s, we used to live in San Clemente and could see the Western White House for Nixon jutting out on a point from where we raised our kids at the near-to-the-beach condo. Santa Barbara was at one point the Western White House where Ronald Reagan lived. Later he was buried at his Museum in Simi Valley, a short drive from where I was still a teen in school at one time.
There was a Western White House, so to speak, in Crawford, Texas where George W. Bush and his wife live now. When the President was in town, it was the Western White House. When President Bush Senior was in office, I believe Kennebunkport, Maine was the Summer White House. When the President is on board any U.S. Air Force aircraft it carries the "Air Force One" call sign and thus is effectively THE airborne White House. When the President is at Camp David, that CAMP effectively becomes the White House. Each President in that office and in their own Western or Eastern White Houses has made both good decisions for this nation as well as disastrous decisions. I could go on and on, but you get the drift.
Personally I am drawn to anthems about "America the Beautiful", "The Star Spangled Banner", and the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". I guess you could call me a very patriotic person. I am most grateful and decidedly thankful for our nation from which the Elijah List goes into all the world. Lord "Shed Your GRACE on us here in America."
My Own White House – Literally
In the Mid-90s, I was given a word by James Goll that I would receive an inheritance from the 4th generation on my mother's side. What an odd word! At the time, I had no idea what that would mean, and we had no relatives from or in Oregon, as far as I knew. So, while I was born in Central Oregon, where my dad had a temporary entry level job at a forest mill company, we were just passing through; the first half of my life was basically all California.
From California, one thing led to another and we found ourselves living in the Great Northwest – first Washington and then Oregon. I relocated to the Albany, Oregon area from Washington State in 1999 with my wife and three children at the time (now all adults). That's where the Elijah List now is and where I was offered a job at a computer company. At the time of my move to Oregon, we had only a couple thousand readers on the Elijah List (now nearly 130,000 readers and many more than that on the Web, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). But relocating was hard then. The economy was good, yet we couldn't find a place to rent or buy that we could afford.
A co-worker said, "Why don't you put an ad in the paper that YOU are looking to rent a house with enough land for your horse?" We received only one phone call on the entire ad and that is where my wife and I still live. Along with Trooper, the horse on twenty acres, with five acres fenced for a horse. As we were closing on the sale of the property we discovered (leaving out many details) that a man from the 4th Generation on my mother's side (just as James Goll had prophesied) had, in essence, financed this farm we were buying. We literally had "bought the farm" my long lost relative, George Russell Chase and family had financed.
The neighbors are all farmers, so they soon invited us to their lake, which is one of the properties next to us for their church baptism. As we ate a delicious potluck later one of the men said to me, "So you live in the White House, huh?"
"Excuse me!" I blurted out.
"Oh, after the war, someone by the name of 'White' used to live there, so we have always called it the 'White House'."
A sweet and THANKSGIVING confirmation and along the line of things I enjoy observing! I live in the WHITE HOUSE! How prophetically fun it is to say that!
The Truest and Most Real White House
We are all just "passing through" in this short life. Some live to 70, or if you enjoy it, even 100. I am hoping that if the Lord tarries, I will live to be a healthy 100 years old. But what will I do with those years? Who am I to become after what people consider the retirement years? Better yet, who am I becoming NOW? There are hints in the Word:
It will be important for you to recall that the Ancient of Days clothing and hair are both WHITE:
Read this: "As I looked, 'thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of His head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze." Daniel 7:9, NIV
Now, all the colors of the rainbow are in Heaven and many more than the eye cannot now see. But, if we are IN CHRIST and IN HIS FATHER and THEY ARE IN US... well, let's read it:
Jesus stated the relationship of God and those who receive THEM this way:
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as we are One: I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me." John 17:20-23, NIV
If then we are ONE with the Father and with Jesus, and Jesus is in the Father and we are in Jesus, then if God and Jesus are white in "clothing and hair," then in a sense, so are we, spiritually speaking...
...And we are in HIS WHITE HOUSE simply because we are in HIM, both literally and figuratively and spiritually. Read CAREFULLY this passage:
"Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, testifying to what would be said in the future. But Christ is faithful as a Son over God's house. And we are His house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast." Hebrews 3:5-6, NIV
If that was spoken as truth under the Old Covenant, which Hebrews says has and is passing away (Hebrews 8:5-7), How MUCH MORE true is it under the NEW COVENANT IN HIS BLOOD?
I pray you'll join me this THANKSGIVING SEASON IN TRUE, PURE, PRAISE-FILLED THANKS THAT WE ARE IN CHRIST AND that means WE ARE IN HIS WHITE HOUSE!
