"Presence", the latest album from Evan Earwicker, was recorded live in Portland, OR. From the first track, "You Consume me" the lyrics and message of this album are focused on a greater desire for a deeper and more genuine experience in His presence. "There's one thing my heart is searching for, one thing my soul desires, for this I am longing more and more – to live in your presence..." Earwicker's growth as a songwriter is evident with many of these latest songs, such as "Your Faithfulness Endures", with lyrics announcing the faithfulness of God, with others proclaiming our confidence in his promises. Why the shoes? In Exodus 3, Moses is tending his sheep when he encounters God in the burning bush. What does God ask? "Take off your shoes, the place where you are standing is holy..." That's the first step into His presence, and that's where Presence begins.

Imagine the King of the universe breaking into your world...stepping into your room. In the midst of who you are, in the middle of what you're doing, suddenly He is right before you. The King of Heaven and Earth, in all His beauty and with perfect love, extends His hand to you! He reaches down and, as your eyes meet His, He turns His head to whisper these words in your ear: "Dance with Me!"

From this vision was borne a song and an incredible wave of worship. It swept over those who were touched by a young psalmist's response to this outpouring of God.

The psalmist is Evan Earwicker, a then 17-year-old from Bend, Oregon, who from the tender age of 12 had felt a call to lead God's people in worship. At fourteen, Evan went with his pastor to a Worship Together conference in San Jose. On the last day of the conference there was a call for prayer for those who felt led to write songs and lead worship. Encouraged by his youth pastor's wife, Evan stood and received prayer for a new mantle and new anointing on his life. He wrote his first song that night, the first of many.
